Stopping off at orphanages, schools and adoption agencies that her mother aided establish throughout India, Rosenmeier soon voices her hosannas of praise on her behalf mother's tireless efforts as she tours the facilities, embracing disabled children in route. "Journey" opens 12 ,. 2 at Gotham's Quad Cinema, nonetheless its transparent pretext and inadequate tension make further play unlikely. Jessie Rosenmeier, the laudable Danish humanitarian whose amazing achievements the docu tales, is alive and well, charming and incredibly articulate. The interview through which she describes the stillborn boy drove her decision to help children worldwide resonates strongly. Why the daughter instead of the crusading mother should dominate the film becomes progressively unclear, particularly since the abandonment issues that allegedly gave rise for the docu are resolved rapidly.
